As you start to climb your way into new income brackets, make new social circles, accumulate more and more assets, you will start to see not everyone is rooting for you. In fact more people would rather see you fail than succeed, and that is how you know you are on the right path.
Your ability to be disciplined and grow into your potential will make a lot of those around you feel insecure about where they are at with their own life. Instead of them recognizing they have the ability to change at any given moment, they will say things to you like: “relax, you work too much” “you need to chill” “money isn’t everything” “I just try to enjoy life and not work as hard”… all of this is code for “you are making me inadequate because deep down I know I am not living up to my own potential.” When I used to get these comments it would bother me, I couldn’t understand why those around me were not proud of my accomplishments. They would downplay, dismiss, and often times would make me feel guilty for having earned accomplishments. But then I figured out what these comments were about and when I did, I realized this was a great indicator that I was on the right path to success.
Once you recognize who these people are, do not take it personally, it has nothing to do with you and everything to do with them. Lastly, once these people are identified, remove them from your life. Surround yourself with people who want to see you win, as you start to change your social circle to those with the same goals, those with a positive mindset, you will start to see your results increase faster and faster.
I will leave you with this, “Your network is your net worth.”
